WORLD NEGLECTED TROPICAL DISEASES (NTDs) DAY 2023.

On 31 May 2021, the World Heath Assembly (WHA) recognized 30th January as World Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) Day through decision WHA74(18). This decision formalized 30th January as a day to create better awareness on the devastating impacts of NTDs on the poorest populations around the world. The day is also an opportunity to call on everyone to support the growing momentum for the control, elimination and eradication of these diseases. The inaugural celebration of this day by partners was in 2020. The theme for this year 2023 World Neglected Tropical Disease (NTDs) is: "Act Now. Act Together. INTERNATIONAL DAY OF COMMEMORATION IN MEMORY OF THE VICTIMS OF THE HOLOCAUST 2023.

Today, the 27th of January 2023 marks the lnternational Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust. The theme for the 2023 Holocaust remembrance and education day is: "Home and belonging". This theme guides United Nations Holocaust remembrance and education day in 2023. The theme highlights the humanity of the Holocaust victims and survivors, who had their home and sense of belonging ripped from them by the perpetrators of the Holocaust. The violence of exclusion began with disinformation and hate speech that lent support to systemic injustice, discrimination and marginalization and ended with genocidal killing. These reminds us of our responsibility to respond with humanity to the victims of atrocity crimes, to counter hate  speech, antisemitism, Holocaust distortion and denial, and prejudice - to do all we can to prevent genocide. INTERNATIONAL DAY OF EDUCATION 2023.

“Education is a human right, a public good and a public responsibility. “ -United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). In December 2018, the United Nations General Assembly declared January 24 as the International Day of Education. The proclamation of the said occasion is to celebrate the significance of education and learning to the development and cultivation of peace in society. According to UNESCO, it is estimated that 244 million children and youth across the globe are not in school and 771 million young people and adults are illiterate. The given data shows that there are barriers hindering access to education which violates the rights of millions of people around the world.
