WORLD SCIENCE DAY FOR PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT 2023.

World Science Day for Peace and Development is an annual tradition, commemorated on November 10, to celebrate how science promotes global peace and development. The many inventions and discoveries of scientists have helped to promote, amongst others, economic development, poverty reduction, literacy, and better nutrition for millions of people around the world. The idea for World Science Day for Peace and Development emerged from the 1999 World Conference on Science in Budapest, Hungary. The conference brought together scientists, policymakers, and other stakeholders to discuss the role of science in promoting peace and sustainable development. Since it's proclamation by UNESCO in 2001, World Science Day for Peace and Development has generated many concrete projects, programmes and funding for science around the world.
