The United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution (A/RES/43/61) in December 1988, which proclaims the "lnternational Week of Science and Peace", to encourage institutions, associations and individuals to sponsor events and activities related to the study and dissemination of information on the links between progress in science and technology and maintenance of global peace, harmony and security. It is a week that is contributing to greater international understanding and cooperation in using science for the promotion of peace. The lnternational Week of Science and Peace was first held in 1986. It has been celebrated globally from the 9th to the 14th of November every year. This year's lnternational Week of Science and Peace will be celebrated from 9th to the 15th of November, 2022.
