WORLD BICYCLE DAY 2022.

World Bicycle Day is celebrated annually on June 3 to promote the use of bicycles for transportation, recreation and environmental conservation. The theme for this year's World Bicycle Day 2022 is: "Our Planet, Our Health". The World Heath Organization (WHO) stated that promoting bicycles to the world's poorest individuals and communities can prevent 1.5 million premature deaths and 5 billion pounds of greenhouse gas emissions each year. World Bicycle Day is celebrated in over 80 countries around the world. Activities includes bike rides, education events and public art installations. It is a day to celebrate the bicycle and promote bike safety. The day has been celebrated since 1988, when it was started by the international league of conservation photographers (ILCP). By riding your bike you are not only improving your health and well-being. You are tackling the climate crisis, safeguarding our biodiversity and protecting our planet. A bicycle is a clean, affordable and environment-friendly mode of transportation and promoting its use contributes to the conservation of nature and achieving cleaner air and environment.
