Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Day is celebrated every year on 27th June. The United Nations General Assembly designated 27th June each year as "Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Day " by resolution (A/RES/71/279) to raise awareness of the tremendous contributions of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSME's) to the achievement of the United Nations sustainable development goals (SDGs). MSME's account for 90% of businesses, 60% to 70% of employment and 50% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) worldwide. As the backbone of societies everywhere, they contribute to local and national economies and to sustaining livelihoods, in particular among the working poor, women, youth and groups in vulnerable situations. This year's Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Day 2022 is: "Resilience and Rebuilding: MSME's for sustainable development" at the forefront of building back better and stronger from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, climate crisis and conflicts. This day is marked to raise awareness of the contribution of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises to global economy. These enterprises play a crucial role in creating jobs and improving livelihoods and are the backbone of most economies worldwide.
