WORLD RADIO DAY 2022.

 World radio day is celebrated globally today, 13th February 2022. The theme for this year is " Radio and Trust ". The day was proclaimed by UNESCO in 2011 during their 36th conference to celebrate radio broadcast, improving international cooperation among all radio broadcasters. They encourages all countries to mark this day by committing an activities with national, regional, and international broadcasting associations and organizations. It was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012 as an international day. February 13th was chosen as it is the day on which the United Nations established the United Nations radio in 1946. Radio is an inextricably linked aspect of our lives, instilling in us all the values of discussion, tolerance and peace. Radio has always brought people and communities together from all walks of life creating positive dialogues, standing resiliently and remaining a go-to- medium of communication. The radio is more than just a source of music. lt's how we connect with the world, learn new things and get information through news. The radio is a powerful medium for celebrating humanity in all it's diversities. Radio is an inseparable part of our lives that teaches us all, dialogue, tolerance and peace. Radio is one of the oldest and most consumed mediums of communication. The radio has been the most amazing invention as a communication medium that has touched many lives all through time.


Radio is uniquely positioned to bring communities together and foster positive dialogue for change. Radio services provide the diversity of views and voices needed to address the challenges we all face. The radio as we all know is the mass medium which reaches the widest audience in the world. It connects different cultures together, provide information, communication and entertainment to all. The radio makes the world to be a small and a global village. Radio is much more than a means of communication. Radio is such a reliable friend to humanity. Radios are with us since 1890's overwhelming all technology disruptions and still going strong. An amazing invention that still connects to everyone. World radio day is celebrated on 13th February each year to recognize radio as a powerful medium which brings people together from every corner of the globe to promote diversity and help build a more peaceful and inclusive world. It is an event to draw the attention to the value of radio, a medium that can reach the widest audience to disseminate information, communication and networking.


Radios are extremely powerful medium of communication as they can reach millions of ears and minds at the same time. Radio is the media which connects different cultures and diversities to weave us all together in one thread. Radio is like the theatre of our minds open and free. On world radio day, we must remember that inventions never vanish, they just keep on changing their formats and evolving. Bring the world closer and honour radios, honour and celebrate it on this day. UNESCO ask the whole world to celebrate this day to honour radio as the medium with the most robust and high reaching medium of communication.


Radio is still one of the dynamic and engaging medium throughout the world. World radio day is an opportunity to celebrate radio and understand how it had helped to shape millions of lives in the past decades. The day is celebrated to spread the importance of radio to people and how it had helped to deliver access to information. Happy world radio day 2022.

WORLD HABITAT DAY 2024.

The United Nations designated the first Monday of October of every year through resolution (A/RES/40/202/A) as World Habitat Day to reflect on the state of our habitats, and on the basic rights of all to adequate shelter. THE RISING INSECURITY CHALLENGES IN NIGERIA.

  For over a decade now, Nigeria has been battling with overcoming her insecurity challenges.
