24th October every year is marked as International Day of Climate Action. International Day of Climate Action is a day dedicated to taking action and guarding against the perils of climate change. International Day of Climate Action is a worldwide movement initiated by young people concerned about climate change and global injustice. UNITED NATIONS DAY 2022.

United Nations Day, 24th October marks the entry into force in 1945 of the United Nations charter. On 31st October 1947, the United Nations General Assembly, by resolution (A/RES/168 (ii)), declared that the day would be devoted to raising awareness of the goals and achievements of the organization and gaining support for it's work. The cornerstone of the United Nations permanent headquarters was laid on United Nations Day, 24th October 1949, at a special open air General Assembly meeting held on the site of the headquarters building in Manhattan, New York, USA, which marked the organization's fourth anniversary. In 1971, the United Nations General Assembly recommended that United Nations Day be observed as a public holiday by all member states (resolution 2782 (xxvi).   A BRIEF PERSONAL BACKGROUND OF MR. ENOBONG EKWERE ( PEACE ADVOCATE) IN NIGERIA. Comrade Enobong Ekwere is a social influencer, blogger, vlogger, human rights activist, peace practitioner, grassroot social mobilizer, SDGs advocate and a global citizen. He is the program manager of children and young people living for peace (CYPLP), an organic, volunteer of experts, youth focused and a think-tank non-governmental organization based in Kaduna state, Nigeria. A Higher National Diploma (HND) graduate of Public Administration (Upper Credit) from the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State, Nigeria. INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ERADICATION OF POVERTY 2022.

Through resolution (A/RES/ 47/196) adopted on 22nd December 1992, the United Nations General Assembly declared 17th October as the lnternational Day for the Eradication of Poverty and invited all states to devote the day to presenting and promoting, as appropriate in the national context, concrete activities with regard to the eradication of poverty and destitution. The resolution further invites intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations to assist states, at their request, in organizing national activities for the observance of the day, and requests the Secretary - General to take, within existing resources, the measures necessary to ensure the success of the day's observance by the United Nations. October 17th presents an opportunity to acknowledge the effort and struggle of people living in poverty, a chance for them to make their concerns heard, and a moment to recognize that poor people are the first ones to fight against poverty.
