On May 2017, the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution (A/RES/71/288) on the role of language professionals in connecting nations and fostering peace, understanding and development, and declared 30th September as lnternational Translation Day. International Translation Day, observed annually on 30th September is a celebration of linguistic diversity and global unity. It is a day to applaud the hardworking translators and interpreters who break down language barriers, bringing people closer together. 30th September celebrates the feast of St. Jerome, the Bible translator, who is considered the patron saint of translators. The theme for this year's lnternational Translation Day 2023 is: "Translation unveils the many faces of humanity".
