WORLD CITIES DAY 2022.

The United Nations General Assembly designated 31st October by it's resolution A/RES/ 68/239 as World Cities Day. The day is expected greatly promote the international community's interest in global urbanization, push forward co-operation among countries in meeting opportunities, addressing challenges of urbanization and contributing to sustainable urban development around the world. World Cities Day aligns with the United Nations sustainable development goal 11, sustainable cities and communities, which deals with urban development sustainably. World Cities Day was first celebrated in 2014 and has been observed every year. The day brings to light the inequalities within the biggest cities in the world and pushes for greater social inclusion, including equality and access to services and opportunities. WORLD THRIFT DAY 2022.

The World Thrift Day, also often called World Savings Day was established on 31st October 1924, during the first lnternational Thrift Congress held in Milan, ltaly. The ltalian professor Filippo Ravizza, declared 31st October as World Savings Day. Every year on this day, the world focuses it's attention on the importance of savings on the occasion of World Thrift Day. THE IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON HUMANITY AND THE ENVIRONMENT.

  According to the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), 1.8 billion is the number of people facing flood risk worldwide. Flooding is one of the most threatening risks resulting from climate change. Careful planning and working with nature could bring this appalling figure down.               ACTING ON THE SCIENCE Climate change is here, and most of it's effects will persist for centuries. But some of these irreversible changes can be slowed if humanity acts immediately and rapidly to reduce carbondioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions. We need to "decarbonize the world with green carbon". WORLD POLIO DAY 2022.

World Polio Day was established in 1985 by Rotary lnternational to commemorate the birth of Jonas Salk, who was the led medical researcher of the team that developed a vaccine against polio. He developed the inactivated polio virus vaccine, which first came into use in 1955. This was further developed as the oral polio vaccine by Albert Sabin, which cane into use in 1961. Today, the polio vaccines are recommended all over the world, particularly for children under the age of five, who are the most vulnerable to the infection. Every year on 24th October, World Polio Day is observed to raise awareness of the importance of polio vaccination to protect every child from this devastating disease, and to celebrate the many patents, professionals and volunteers whose contributions make polio eradication achievable.
